DMB fans were in for a surprise tonight as the Blues Traveler frontman, John Popper, sat in on “What Would You Say” at the DTE Energy Music Theatre in Clarkston, Michigan. It was the first time John sat in with the band since 2001 and his 31st time performing live with DMB.

John recorded with the band in 1995 on the track “Say Goodbye” and has performed it live with the band a few times, most notably, on 2/24/95 at the Roseland Ballroom. Later that night, Trey Anastasio of Phish joined DMB for “All Along the Watchtower.” Tonight, John was all smiles and had this to say.
