Wednesday night (4/9) at Terminal West in Atlanta was not your average mid-week show. A substantial crowd gathered at the rejuvenated venue in King Plow Arts Center to experience firsthand why the name Dopapod is on so many lips these days.

The Boston born, Brooklyn based band did not disappoint. Those in attendance were treated to a two set rager that ran the gamut from spacey melodic grooves to pulsating electronic rock.

The pure musical talent of the band was evident in each of the four members separately. The collective convergence of those talents resulted in a unique sonic experience that left me wondering just what genre to place these guys in?

The answer it seems is that there isn’t one. Jamtronica is probably as close as one can get with a single word, but even that doesn’t do justice to the ebb and flow of pace and style Dopapod brought to the stage. A great time was had by all. I went to sleep that night with the Terminal West lights still flashing in my head, and my ears humming like a freight train filled with dynamite.
